I'm really looking forward to our 4th Lung Run! Every year it continues to grow, and I can't wait to see the wonderful turnout this year! Thank you to everyone who comes out and supports our cause! Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to make this event possible!! Every step is A Breath of Hope!

The Lung Run is going to be very difficult and meaningful for our family this year, as it is every year. This will be our first event without my Mom, Judy Golz, as a survivor. I will never forget watching her walk across the finish line that first year! Her arms were high above her head, proud as could be, smiling... with the sense of major accomplishment! Her vision of a "Lung Run" came true! And not only that, she was still able to physically handle the walk!

This year, she will be watching us from heaven...still proud as can be!! Proud of all of us who are making a difference and fighting against this terrible disease. I know she will be there, but boy do I wish I could be walking hand in hand with her...witnessing her strength in action, and watching her be the leader she was.

I miss you, Mom. Every single day, I am reminded of you in so many different ways. The places we visited, the jokes we shared, the meals we enjoyed, the holidays we treasured. You are with me wherever I go, you are the wind behind my sail.

This is my first year as part of the lung run committee as well as participating in the run/walk. I am so glad to be part of such a great organization and cause. This is one of the many ways that I feel like I can honor and remember my Dad, who passed away Dec, 2006. Not a day goes by where I don't have a memory or thought about him. I love and miss you Dad, everyday!

I hope someday that finding a cure for lung cancer can be as equally meaningful as any other cancer. Each breath is one breath closer!!

Let's make this a remarkable year for lung cancer research...

Saturday, July 10th was the 1-year anniversary of my mom's passing from lung cancer. The day was difficult, but I found comfort in watching old home videos where I could hear her infectious laugh and see her taking care of our family. And, despite the fact that I hate Bacardi + Diet Coke (her drink of choice), I had to have one in her honor.

She was only 59 and won't have the opportunity to see me get married or have children. I miss her everyday and I don't want anybody else to have to go through this. That's why I joined the Lung Run committee and am forming a team for this year's walk/run in September. I want 2010 to be the most successful year to-date!

I'm so excited for the walk this year! We have a wonderful caring committee who is hard at work for those of us who have been touched by this horrible disease. Please bring everyone you know out on September 11th to raise awareness and walk around the beautiful Lake Harriet!

I lost my mom to lung cancer on December 26th 2009. Every day without my mom is a struggle for me. She had a way of making each and every day a little brighter. I miss you mom! Each step I take this year is for you, so that we can all breathe a little hope.
